Olive Oil

Olive Oil

What is Olive Oil?

Olive trees have been grown in the Mediterranean for hundreds of years and oil produced from olives has long been a staple of the famous Mediterranean diet.

Olive oil is made from crushed olives and contains no additives or preservatives and is usually graded into three types; Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Olive Oil and Light In Colour Olive Oil.

Uses for olive oil? Olive oil has a more subtle flavour than extra virgin and is great for everyday use. It can be used for a range of cooking uses including frying and marinating meat, fish and vegetables.

Is olive oil good for you? Olive oils are high in monounsaturated fats, whilst Extra Virgin Olive oil contains some of the highest levels of antioxidants of all oils.
