NAPOLINA WINS OXFAM AWARD FOR DRIVING EQUALITY IN ITALIAN TOMATO SUPPLY CHAIN
We are extremely proud to have been recognised by Oxfam for our ongoing efforts to tackle inequality and poverty in the Italian tomato supply chain, through a 2021 ‘Fighting inequality: It can be done’ award.
The award was received for our ‘Lavoro Senza Frontiere’ (Work Without Borders) initiative. The scheme was launched in collaboration with on-the-ground charity, Caritas, in 2018, to train and find roles for victims of modern slavery in Southern Italy at our Foggia tomato processing facility (Princes Industrie Alimentari) – the home of Napolina.
It is designed to promote ethical working conditions throughout Napolina’s tomato supply chain, helping to generate a positive impact for the community of the Apulian tomato district. Lavoro Senza Frontiere is part of Napolina’s broader commitments on social sustainability in Italy, which the Group has been driving forward since we established a presence there.
